'Gay producers and lesbians are now in charge of Nollywood'' Paul Obazele says

Veteran actor and former President of the Association of Movie Producers in Nigeria, Paul Obazele, saysHomosexual producers have taken over Nollywood. He made the allegation in an interview with Punch.
''I would not lie, we have gay producers and lesbians in the Nigerian entertainment industry and they are the people in control. Why are we hiding it? When I was president of the Association of Movie Producers, I was against them. Why are we pretending that it does not happen? The same way it happens in Nollywood is the same way it happens in the medical field and other fields. The truth be told , it happens across the board. If you mention the names of some producers, I would gladly tell you if they are gay or not ; they cannot do anything to me. If they bring a war to me, I would take it to their doorsteps. I do not give into gossips but I have got to a place in my life when some unsolicited piece of information come to me. They must tell me. I am an elder in this industry and that is why I said if you mention names, I would tell you if the person is gay or not. It does not elude us; it happens within our rank and file. But like I always say, sex is not the ultimate step to attaining success, it is hard work.” he said

Bali customs

For Mum and Dad, under whose parental guidance I spoke my first words

** All errors below highly regretted
**********
It is instructive to note that Bali customs and way of life had witnessed wide range of transformations. These transformations, however, could not be said to be recent but traced back to several decades. Most of the traditional institutions Bali had erected in its developmental process had quickly fallen apart years after independence. There is noticeably little control of things and as such, a lot had mostly gone wrong. The socio-political and moral fabric of the Bali society was facing series of challenges as a result of a number of influences both within and outside Bali.

Apart from being a witness to teenage pregnancy which was one of the challenges facing Bali, I got to understand that Balis highly patriarchal inclinations were heavily skewed in favour of men. While there seems to be nothing wrong in societies being patriarchal, as many African pre- and post-colonial societies continue to uphold this norm, I found it excessive under the circumstances it treated the female folk. One example could be found in their marriage systems where young girls were indiscriminately given out in marriage without their consent. I however, didnt witness any of these sorts of forced marriage but learnt that many potential suitors usually travelled from far and wide to ask for a young Bali girls hand in marriage even when the latter was not ready or rarely knew such suitor. Due to the fact that the bride price in Bali was so little, some of these suitors both within Bali and outside exploit this custom and local law to seek for the hands of these girls in marriage. Also, because many of these parents were poor economically, the bride price and all sorts of other gifts provided by the suitors become a viable means to help keep body and soul together. The more the girls were married off, the better the continued survival of the parent. Under such tradition, these young girls had no choice but to accept, most times under intense pressure.

In the area of social life, it was said that lots of marriages collapsed even before they attain maturity. Divorce in Bali was said to be even more rampant than what one could imagine. I had witnessed and even attended quite a handful of marriages in Bali yet amazed when I was told many of those marriages rarely lasted. Why, my source didnt say, but one may not be far from linking it to the skewed marriage system mentioned above.

Throughout my stay in Bali, I saw and attended quite a few marriages and though did not witness cases of collapsed marriages as my source had made it sound, but noticed there were quite a number of homes in Bali occupied by single parents or divorced men and women.

Under normal circumstances, a divorced marriage impacts negatively on the children except such situation is handled properly. While some of these children become deviants ultimately, others move on well and excel. The difference between both is that one was not able to come out of the shock of a parents divorce, especially one that was messy, while the other developed at some point a thick skin. However, the ability to manage these children well enough so they dont become affected psychologically from the trauma of parental separation is fundamental to creating a positive balance and preparing them during their formative years for the huge task ahead. I found this simple societal/home training missing in Bali, especially among separated parents. Even children whose parents were not separated are yet to show proper upbringing not to talk of those under divorced parentage. The inability to bring up a child properly in Bali, whether under a divorced parent or not, is one of the reasons for the deviant behaviours I discovered among the children and youths in the community. Aside this, I noticed also a number of societal and family dislocations ranging from teenage pregnancy, teenage and single parenting, alcoholism, drug abuse, addiction, parental neglect to mention a few.
I must however, admit that the above is not an isolated case and could be found elsewhere, yet I have wondered how a community as small as Bali, one that was not too open to outside influences, have many of these dislocations. Only the Bali people, perhaps, may have answers to this pertinent .

QUALITIES OF A GOOD WOMAN

1). Never raise your voice for any reason to your husband. Its a sign of disrespect.

2). Don't expose your husband's weaknesses to your family and friends. It will bounce back at you.You are each other's keeper.

3). Never use attitudes and moods to communicate to your husband, you never know how your husband will interpret them. Defensive women don't have a happy home.

4). Never compare your husband to other men, you've no idea what their life is all about. If you attack his Ego, his Love for you will diminish.

5). Never ill treat your husband's friends because you don't like them, the person who's supposed to get rid of them is your husband.

6). Never forget that your husband married you, not your maid or anyone else. Do your duties.

7). Never assign anyone to give attention to your husband, people may do everything else but your husband is your own responsibility.

8). Never blame your husband if he comes back home empty handed. Rather encourage him.

9). Never be a wasteful wife, your husband's sweat is too precious to be wasted.

12). Never answer for your husband in public opinion polls, let him handle what is directed to him although he may answer for you in public opinion polls.

13). Never shout or challenge your husband in front of children. Wise Women don't do that.

14). Don't forget to check the smartness of your husband before he checks out.

15). Never allow your friends to be too close to your husband.

16). Never be in a hurry in the bathroom and on the dressing table. Out there your husband is always surrounded by women who took their time on their looks.

17). Your parents or family or friends do not have the final say in your marriage. Don't waste your time looking up to them for a final word. You must Leave if you want to Cleave.

18). Never base your love on monetary things. Will you still submit to him even if you earn more money than him?

19). Don't forget that husbands want attention and good listeners, never be too busy for him. Good communication is the bed rock of every happy home.

20). If your idea worked better than his, never compare yourself to him. Its always team work.

21). Don't be too judgmental to your husband. No man wants a Nagging wife.

22). A lazy wife is a careless wife. She doesn't even know that her body needs a bath.

23). Does your husband like a kind of cooked food? Try to change your cooking. No man jokes with food.

24). Never be too demanding to your husband, enjoy every moment, resource as it comes.

25). Make a glass of water the very first welcome to your husband and everyone entering your home. Sweetness of attitude is true beauty.

26). Don't associate with women who have a wrong mental attitude about marriage.

27). Your marriage is as valuable to you as the value that you give it. Recklessness is unacceptable.

28). Fruit of the womb is a blessing from the Lord, love your children and teach them well.

29). You are never too old to influence your home. Never reduce your care for your family for any reason.

30). A prayerful wife is a better equipped wife, pray always for your husband and family.

Send it to every woman you know. You never know whose marriage you are about to save. And to every man so that the women in their lives can be better guided, don't take it personal

Becoming Rich

Your boss pays you N30,000 per month.
Now let's assume that you decided to save all without touching a dime, it would take you 36 months to make N1million. (Did I hear you say 3years?) Absolutely!

In the other hand, if you can convince an organisation like Dangote Group To print and supply 5000 umbrellas to them (to be used as souvenirs) and you make just N200 profit per umbrella, in just one day you must have made N1million.

What about becoming a billionaire, that is where it gets crazy!

Now let's increase your pay to N1,000,000 per month and you decide to save all without touching a dime. In a year, you must have saved N12million. It would take about 84years before you can make N1billion. (Please subtract your current age).

In the other hand, Nigeria has a population of about 200 million people, If you can supply salt to just 12million people once in a month and you make just N200 from each person supplied, in one year, you must have made N2.9billion.

This shows that to become rich, you have to stop talking to bosses and start talking to clients.

Democracy is on trial in Abia- Gov Ikpeazu

By Anayo Okoli Umuahia

— Embattled Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state who was sacked from office on Thursday by a Federal High Court Abuja for alleged tax evasion declared yesterday that democracy was on trial in the state but vowed to challenge the court verdict up to the Supreme Court. Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja had in his judgement on Monday ordered INEC to issue a certificate of return to Ikpeazu’s challenger, Dr Uche Ogah and also ordered Ikpeazu to vacate office. • Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu addressing a group of Abia people on a solidarity visit to Government House, Umuahia, yesterday. The development caused tension in the state on Thursday, following an alleged attempt by Ogah to get the state Chief Judge, Justice Theresa Uzokwe, to swear him in as the governor. Briefing newsmen at the Presidential Lodge, Government House, Umuahia, yesterday, Ikpeazu who was flanked by his deputy, Chief Ude Oko Chukwu, the Deputy Speaker of the House and some of his aides, said the illegality would not stand and that he remained the governor. He said, “I am still the governor of Abia, so, I appeal to our people to remain calm until the final verdict of the Supreme Court. This illegality will not stand. I will test the judgment in the Appeal Court up to the Supreme Court. “Even if it was a death sentence, I don’t think that I will be executed without right of appeal. “That right is fundamental, that right is undeniable and a denial of that right is a denial of my fundamental right. There is no doubt over who is in charge or who the governor of Abia State is because you people witnessed the day we were sworn-in and you also all witnessed the day we took oath of allegiance and no other person has taken that oath again as the Governor of Abia State”, Dr. Ikpazu said. The governor who wondered the “urgency and desperation” with which Ogah wanted to be sworn-in, vowed that “we are resolute to defend the mandate given us by the people”. The governor said that he was resolute in his determination to defend the mandate given to him and assured the people that the mandate was still intact. “What is on trial in Abia is democracy and not me as a person, “he said . According to him, the tenets of democracy emphasise that the will of the people is sacrosanct . The governor urged the people to disregard the speculation in some quarters that the crisis in the state was influenced by the Federal Government. He said that the Federal government, which is currently fighting corruption in the country, could not indulge in such an act that was antithetical to democracy. Speaking on the allegation of tax evasion levelled against him by Ogah, Ikpeazu said that, as a government employee, his tax was paid to Abia Board of Internal Revenue. He said that the board had come out with an affidavit to prove that the tax receipts he tendered were issued by it and was ready to defend the documents. Ikpeazu expressed happiness over the conduct of youths in the state and urged them to maintain their calmness. He said that “Abia is calm contrary to current act of wanton destruction of oil pipelines in other Niger Delta states in the country.  Abia perhaps is the only Niger Delta state in the country where youths have refused to join in vandalising Federal Government pipeline installations.”

S-H-O-C-K-E-R: Le Guen has not applied for Eagles job – Technical Committee

Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Chris Green has denied any knowledge of the employment of Frenchman Paul Le Guen to tinker the Super Eagles. Christopher Green In an exclusive interview with Sports Vanguard on our hotline yesterday, Green revealed that the former coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon who qualified them for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa has not applied to coach the Nigerian national team. ‘’As the chairman of the Technical Committee whose responsibility it is to interview and employ coaches for the Super Eagles, there is no application from Le Guen to manage the Eagles.  I don’t know where these stories of Le Guen are coming from. He has not applied. All I know is that the job of the Super Eagles coach must be thrown open for the right qualified person. And such a successful coach must show the desire of coaching in Nigeria. We are in a dilemma right now and must do the right thing to get it right. We cannot toy with the emotions of millions of Nigerians’’,Green, who described the coming of Le Guen as a ‘’rumour’’, said. ‘’The Technical Committee of the NFF is made up of knowledgeable people, most of them who played football at the highest level. We have names like Christian Chukwu, Chief Adeboye Onigbinde, Victor Ikpeba, Garba Lawal, Paul Bassey and others. These gentlemen can confirm to you if we have received any application from Le Guen. I don’t want to get worked up on this matter. Le Guen This was how they brought Sunday Oliseh and we are witnesses to what happened to our football. We must get things right now. Our opponents, Algeria, have employed a coach and we should avoid the mistake of employing a coach who will not have a conducive atmosphere to operate in. That will not be good for Nigerian football’’, Green emphasised.

Certificate Saga: Why Court struck out suit against Buhari.

By Ikechukwu Nnochiri ABUJA—–The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Thursday, struck out the suit querying the educational qualification of President Muhammadu Buhari. Justice Ademola Adeniyi threw out the case following a ‘notice of discontinuance’ by the plaintiff, Mr. Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe. Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), At the resumed sitting on the matter, Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe declared his intention to withdraw the suit, though he failed to adduce any reason behind the decision. The trial court had earlier okayed indefinite adjournment of the case owing to an appeal President Buhari lodged before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on June 15. Meantime, in view of the application by the plaintiff, Justice Adeniyi, in a bench ruling, placed reliance on Order 50(2) of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules and terminated further hearing on the matter. Cited as defendants in the suit which was initiated before the 2015 presidential election, were the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the All Progressives Congress, APC. Specifically, the plaintiff who is a legal practitioner had in his amended concurrent originating summons, sought “a declaration that the averment/statement by the 3rd defendant, General Muhammad Buhari (Rtd), GCFR, in his affidavit sworn to on November 24, 2014 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, that all his academic qualification documents as filled in his Presidential Nomination Form No. President APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as at the time of deposing to the affidavit, is false. “A declaration that neither the Nigeria Army nor any of its organs is in possession of the Primary Six School Certificate or the West African School Certificate of the 3rd defendant, General Muhammadu Buhari, Rtd, GCFR. “A declaration that the false averments/statements by the 3rd defendant in his affidavit in support of personal particulars (INEC Form C.F. 001) that he has fulfilled all requirements for qualification to the office of president and also in his affidavit sworn to on November 24, 2014 at the High Court of the FCT Abuja, to the effect that all his academic qualification documents as filled in his presidential nomination form No. President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board, disqualifies him from standing election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, pursuant to the provisions of section 31(5) & (6) of the Electoral Act 2010, as amended. “A declaration that the 3rd defendant did not provide any proof or evidence in his INEC Nomination Form for office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria [Form E.C. 4B (i)], its accompanying documents and affidavit in support, submitted by him to the 1st defendant (INEC) that he is qualified to contest for election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in line with the qualification criteria set out in section 131(d) of the 199 constitution, as amended. As well as, “a declaration that the 3rd defendant was not qualified to stand for and contest the election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the 2015 general election for making false statement to INEC in breach of the provisions of section 31(6) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and failure to attach proof to his nomination form that he has attained educational qualifications to qualify to contest election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as set out in section 131(d) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. More so, the plaintiff prayed for an order invalidating the candidature of President Buhari in respect of the 2015 general elections, as well as an order directing INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to him. He equally wanted “an order directing INEC to issue a new Certificate of Return to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, being the candidate who came second in the 205 Presidential Elections”. Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe contended that there was no organ, institution, agency, department or authority known as and called the “Military Board” existing in Nigeria as at November 24, 2014, when President Buhari deposed an affidavit before the Abuja High Court. President Buhari has earlier engaged a consortium of lawyers, comprising of 13 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANS, to defend him both at the high court and the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. The legal team of the President was headed by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN. Buhari had gone before the appellate court to challenge a ruling Justice Adeniyi delivered on May 26, 2016, wherein he held that the suit was properly served on the defendant by the plaintiff. The appellant argued that the trial Judge erred in law when he held that “the 3rd defendant was served the plaintiff’s originating summons as required by law and the rules of court”. Buhari argued that the plaintiff ought to have served him the process at his address at No 4A & B Sultan Lane, Off Sultan Road, Kaduna, instead of serving the originating summons and other processes on him via substituted means at the National Headquarters of the APC at No. 40 Blantyre Street, Off Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Wuse II, Abuja. “The failure of the learned trial Judge to set aside the order for substituted service has occasioned grave injustice to the appellant. The refusal and or failure to set aside the order is perverse”, Buhari contended.

Photos: We will rebuild the Niger Delta, President Buhari assures

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration would rebuild Nigeria, including the Niger Delta region, and asks for patience and understanding from the citizenry.
Receiving a delegation of Niger Delta Dialogue and Contact Group, led by His Royal Highness, King Alfred Diette-Spiff, the Amanyanabo of Twon Brass, Bayelsa State, at State House, Abuja, Thursday, President Buhari pledged that under his watch Nigeria will witness judicious utilization of resources.
"We intend to rebuild this country; so that our children and grand-children will have a good place they can call their own. A lot of damage has been done, so I want you to tell the people to be patient.
"When you get together with other leaders, please pacify the people. We will utilize the resources of Nigeria with integrity and rebuild the country."
The President said the gazette on the Niger Delta amnesty programme by the Umaru Yar'Adua administration is being studied with a view to determining what had been fulfilled, promising that whatever is left would equally be addressed.
"I want to get as much intelligence as possible on the situation in the Niger Delta. I have encouraged law enforcement agencies to contact leaders like you in order to have enough information to deal with the issues once and for all, “the President said.
He sympathized with investors who borrowed lots of money to invest in the Niger Delta region and have not recouped their investments due to insecurity.

He used the occasion of his audience with the Group to reiterate his appeal to those who perpetrate violence to embrace peace and give government a chance.

The leader of the Group, King Alfred Diette-Spiff, said the group was made of peace builders, dedicated to peace and stability in the region.

Istanbul Airport suspected ISIS bombers were Uzbek, Russian, Kyrgyz - Turkish offic

Three suspected Islamic State (ISIS) suicide bombers who killed 43 people in a gun and bomb attack at Istanbul's main airport this week were Russian, Uzbek and Kyrgyz nationals, a Turkish government official said on Thursday June 30.

The suicide bombers opened fire to create panic outside, before two of them got inside the terminal building and blew themselves up. The third detonated his explosives at the entrance. At least 239 people were wounded in the attack.

According to Reuters, the Turkey official who confirmed the terrorists' nationalities, declined to be named because details of the investigation have not yet been released. Forensics teams had been struggling to identify the bombers from their limited remains, officials said earlier.
"A medical team is working around the clock to conclude the identification process," one of the officials said.
Interior Minister Efkan Ala told parliament that evidence continued to point to ISIS responsibility and that the death toll had risen to 43, of whom 19 were foreigners. Ala said the identity and nationality of one of the bombers had been determined but did not comment further.

The pro-government Yeni Safak newspaper said the Russian bomber was from Dagestan, which borders Chechnya. Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper named him as Osman Vadinov and said he had come from Raqqa, the heart of Islamic State-controlled territory in Syria.

The Russian interior ministry said it was checking information about Vadinov. A spokesman for Kyrgyzstan's state security service said it was investigating, while the Uzbek security service had no immediate comment.
